Hey folks... didn't want to go without writing a little something since if you didn't see anything today you probably would have thought something bad had happened... but alas work has suddenly (and quite mentally inconveniently) picked up... so I am a bit awash with that.
A big thank-you for all those who did respond publicly and privately to yesterday's post about Toby. He actually seems a tad better this past day or so... it is probably due to the cortisone shot... despite the doctor telling us that it would give him a boost, but would just be masking the symptoms... it is hard not to be encouraged about it. I just had a conversation with Todd and we are heavily considering going in and talking to Toby's usual vet next week for a second/another opinion... through all this, he has been going to his usual animal hospital, but we've just seen another vet during this stretch. While not being foolishly optimistic/Pollyanna about it, I guess you can say we have the audacity to hope...
I had a very nice lunch yesterday with an old friend (while my Cooper was getting its annual service)... I had not seen her in several years... and without too much guilt, I will admit it was nice to get away from the house and shift the troubles to the back-burner for a couple of hours.
I told her I should probably give her my blog URL... quite funny... very few people I know me "real" world-wise read my blog. I guess there is a safety or freedom in opening up with total strangers... though I am sure many of my fellow bloggers would agree that one feels that true friendships have developed with folks they have never met face to face. I told her it would probably be overwhelming (and a TMI factor), since it is pretty much a daily version of the my annual holiday letter -- where I pretty much condense a year's worth of blog entries down to one page!
I guess that's it... again many thanks and I will keep you posted about Toby... but otherwise, expect the usual W&C subject matter... as always, it provides (mostly me) a good distraction.
