... well, we're not "leaving today"
We're leaving over the weekend for the big East Coast trip... and we are pretty booked up with activities.
Monday we are meeting up with my very best friend from college. In the past, I have referred to her as the "Grace" to my "Will"... so looking forward to that... thankfully we caught her in time as she is headed out on a family vacation of her own on Wednesday.
As often mentioned, Tuesday thru Thursday we are headed into NYC. Given the 10-day forecast, it appears we are avoiding the remnants of tropical storms this time around... but it looks like it will be heating up and I am guessing there will be some of that lovely humidity that I certainly haven't missed since moving to the desert... and with an extra day this time around, hopefully our tour of the city will be a tad less manic... and we booked each night, a Mets game and The Color Purple. We have tentative (and quite touristy) plans for for the time in between, but probably better just to let them happen and tell you about them when we get back.
The main reason for the trip back home is next Friday, my Mom's birthday. I haven't seen my parents since our last trip back East in October 2005... so this is probably one of the longest stretches that I have gone without seeing them since moving out to Arizona. My brother's family is also coming up from NC, they had to push their arrival until Sunday... and I haven't seen them in over 5 years. So quite the family reunion.
And we might throw some other stuff in what little time that's left in between... perhaps heading to Statue of Liberty (a bit more convenient to do from the NJ side, plus it doesn't cut into our NYC time) or as noted in the sidebar, perhaps do our own little Sopranos road-trip. I have mapped out some of the locations, so it would just be a matter of finding them!
Now, you probably won't even notice that I am gone. I believe I have something pre-posted for all of next week... but if there is any pop-culture breaking news, I won't be commenting on it... but I guess we'll all just have to survive!
Catch you "live" on the flip side... probably right before the 4th of July holiday!

Have a great time!!!
