Boy Gets Car Back!
Yes, much to my surprise, I got my happy Hollywood ending with a call late in the day that my MINI Cooper was ready to be picked up from the body shop.
So for the record...
118 - days between ordering the car and getting the car
63 - days I had the car
49 - days it was in the body shop
Here it is this morning:

It's not quite done. We are taking it back on Monday for some finishing touches... it needs to be buffed out a bit more, the topcoat has left it feeling pretty gritty in some places... and to get the "bonnet" (hood) stripes back on... the paint job needs to cure for a couple of more days before those are re-applied.
So the final tally.... including taxes, approximately $9,000 in damages ... yikes!
I had to cough up about $1,000 yesterday between the deductible and the difference in labor charges that my insurance company would not cover (which I thought was a bit of a joke). Also, I decided to go ahead and get the windshield replaced after my ding... so that was about $450 since I have the rain sensor.
On the way back from the body shop, with 860 miles on the odometer, I filled up the gas tank for only the 3rd time (!!) in this car's very young life.
Here are the "before and after" shots... needless to say, I am thrilled with the results:

Congratulations on getting the Mini back! Hopefully you will have many more driving days then garage days in the future!

Finally! Now it's time for that trip back to the restaurant, right? Seriously, I'm happy for you. Enjoy your Mini.

Can't believe you only had it 43 days before the crash ... glad you've got it back. Now that I'm walking to work again, I only filled Trucklet up 3 times in June - and at least one of those fill-ups was only a 1/2 tank. I love my new job!
