Unmentionables

Ok, they are nicknamed "unmentionables"...but heck this is a blog, so every now and then you are supposed to share something personal... right?  And since (with a few notable exceptions!) I really don't know many of you... let's share about underwear!

I received a gift card for Christmas, so on Saturday night we went out to the store to see what I could spend my card on clothing-wise.  Since I rarely get dressed up, I was hoping to score some shorts and/or t-shirts, pretty much some warm weather fare (and with temps this week in the mid-70s, that would be right about NOW!).  But alas, the racks were still stocked with winter stuff. 

So then, I thought ... oh, I can get underwear... I haven't purchased anything new recently and maybe I can splurge on something nice (i.e. not Hanes or Fruit of the Loom, not that there is anything wrong with that)...

But geez, when did underwear get so expensive?!  Now, I am not trying to sound cheap here... but (sounding cheap! sounding cheap!)  it seems a little silly to spend so much money on an item of clothing that no one else is going to see... and something, that even the one person who will see it, has seen it all before over 10+ years.  I could have easily blown my entire $25 gift card and walked away with 4 pairs of boxer briefs.  Now, I know you ladies out there are probably laughing your heads off over this!  But c'mon...gay or not, we're still guys!

Now, granted I have spent $10+ for one pair of underwear in the past... and I can tell you most of those are lying in the drawer somewhere rarely worn (perhaps visually nice, terribly uncomfortable).. 

So, I compromised I bought one pack of two boxer briefs (my preferred style - and, if you choose to click that link, don't get any crazy ideas that my torso looks anything like that one!).  They fit my requirements... kind of on the shorter side (I don't like those that go almost down your entire thigh) and not white (how boring! hee hee!)... it took up half of my gift card... but I guess they were worth it... they are pretty comfy and have a nice and... ahem... flattering fit up front... so I guess I should save up my $$ and buy some more.... not that I ever thought I would have to "budget" for undies!

Wow, you only got one pack?? The link of the "unmentionables" had a buy 2 get 1 free. So that would have been 6 pairs for $36. That still is a bit pricey. But one can 'splurge' once in a while. :)

Any more Mini Cooper Chronicles? Have they given you a firm date?

I hear you on the prices. Shocks me everytime I go shopping for some. Now, though, my partner usually buys me unmentionables for gifts, so I can model for him (believe me, that is the only person who would be interested)
