Although I already shared some of the few photos I took of our trip to NYC, I just got around to uploading them to Flickr... if you'd like you can click here to see the big 9 photo NYC Gallery.
As you may remember the weather sucked... it was a total deluge the day we were in Manhattan. When Todd first got into town, we headed over to Liberty State Park in Jersey City to see Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island from the Jersey side. While there was no rain, it was still pretty cloudy and windy.
While re-familiarizing myself with my Flickr Vacation Gallery, I could not help but note all the wonderful weather we had while we were in French Polynesia.
So I decided to have some fun with Photoshop Elements to see if I could re-create a NY/NJ photo under nicer weather conditions.
I started off with this photo of the Statue of LIberty and Ellis Island... kind of a murky day wouldn't you agree?

But look at the wonderful sky here!

So with the magic of Photoshop, I moved the Bora Bora sky as the backdrop to this photo!

Nice!
(And quite impressed with myself since I am NO Photoshop expert)
But then the murkiness of the Hudson River (no offense to the Hudson, without any sun it couldn't help it!) did not quite fit in with my new blue sky.
So why not have somer real fun... I thought this lagoon picture from Moorea had some pop to it and it appeared to have relatively the same perspective/depth as the Ellis Island/Statue of Liberty pic...

So poof! The Hudson becomes a tropical lagoon (complete with coral reefs!)

Now I know this looks quite fake (Photo-shopped!), I should have tried to find a more fitting body of water to replace it with... but I still think it is kinda cool!
I know easily amused... but it was calmly relaxing after some "Bah Humbug!"-ness from one of my clients in the last 24 hours!

Great pix but I was disappointed to not see any of you and your guy ...
