I am starting to thing an EMP bomb went off around our house or something... or maybe I have just watched 24 for too long... remember this past season around the 7:00 pm hour when an electronic-magnetic pulse bomb went off... rendering all types of devices and equipment useless?! Well, this is what has happened in our house in the past 2 weeks:
My digital camera just stopped working
Todd's cordless phone just stopped working
My iPod/speaker system started skipping when replaying songs
Our "back-up" TiVo just stopped working
And just moments ago... my car battery is dead
I was just heading off to the Diamondbacks game... we lucked out that we just happen to have the game where Roger Clemens was to be pitching for the Astros. So that was more the appea of tonight's game more than anything else.
Was able to get Todd on the phone as he was headed out from work... usually for weeknight games we just meet at the game since he only works 10-15 minutes from the ballpark. He offered to come back home and get me... but I told him not to worry about it... in rush hour traffic it would take him 30-40 minutes to get here... and then (against the traffic) another 20 minutes to get back to the ballpark. And it was about an hour or so until game time when it all happened... so it didn't seem to make much sense.
I had an inkling my car battery was going, but I didn't think it was that dire. It doesn't take living in AZ for too many years to know that car batteries don't last terribly long here. But this is an all-time quickie for me ... just about a year (July 16, 2004... to be exact).
So what's next?!

Just be glad you don't have a pacemaker! ;-)
