Fine Wine #11: Jesse Metcalfe

I was not even aware of the latest addition to the Fine Wine list prior to Sunday. There were a lot of familiar faces on ABC's Desperate Housewives - Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross, Nicollette Sheridan (my gosh has she aged since Knots Landing??!), and even Gay Matt from Melrose Place (ok, Doug Savant... is this guy ever going to live down that role?)...

But a fresh face... or should I say a fresh bod... was Jesse Metcalfe. Metcalfe plays "John," but if you saw the show you probably don't remember his character's name either... but rather by some label like "Gardener Boy"... although he spent a lot more time in the bedroom than out in the yard.

Despite his youthful looks, no need to worry... Metcalfe is safely in the legal-to-lust-after range at age 26. His stats are 5'11" and 165 lbs... though if the pilot episode was any indication I think he has beefed up a bit more than that... definitely more so in my chosen picture. This picture was already... how should I say it... ahem... part of my personal downloaded picture "gallery"... and to make that cut AND have pants on is quite the accomplishment! So I was quite surprised when looking for pictures to post, I found this one of him and realized I already had it! I didn't even know he was an actor! Before landing on primetime, Metcalfe was best known for playing Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald on the NBC soap Passions. Despite his Latino heritage, in some pics I have seen Metcalfe could easily pass as the younger brother of Pete Sampras.

As you see, I have modified the FW rules once again... well maybe not, I said I would try to keep my current roster at three...but I just couldn't do it this time around. Josh just arrived and I enjoy my weekly dose of him on Las Vegas. Roger is still kicking ass on the court and threatening to break some long-held season tennis records (for those he has not broken already), so on sheer accomplishment he deserves to stay on. Finally despite some competition from the actual Survivors (particularly John K), my torch is still lit for Mr. Probst (and how can you not love the pic of him?)

So...Jesse Metcalfe becomes the first "bonus" Fine Wine honoree. It looks like he is going to remain boy-toy material on Desperate Housewives, so I think many shirtless scenes lie ahead. I am sure I will get down to three again (maybe do some wild double elimination ala Survivor)... but for now enjoy this quartet... I know I am.

Totally agree with you on Nic Sheridan. I could not believe how she's aged. Terrible thing to say but it shocked me!

THANK YOU for clearing up my fog on who the John guy was. I knew him from somewhere but couldn't figure it out. Miguel from Passions!!!

Tonight I watched Denis Leary's new show, Rescue Me. I think Metcalfe is in that too...not positive, but the guy sure looks like him.

And speaking of Nic, The Sure Thing was on over the weekend...and guess who the Sure Thing was...none other than our own Nicolette Sheridan, in what I think was her first major role. It was 1985, and the opening credits listed her as, "And introducing Nicolette Sheridan."
