The first prediction of the night thankfully came true ... Drew winning BB5 (thankfully as well my second prediction regarding TAR5 did not come true, but more on that later today).
It is not that I was all 100% guns-blazing behind Drew. As with most BB finalists, I have pretty much tired of them by the time the finale night rolls around. But I was happy to see that Cowboy did not take home the money. As Marcellas referred to him on "House Calls", he was the "prison bitch" of the show -- and while he probably needed the money the most, the winner should not be based on financial need. Drew took more chances, won more competitions, and stuck his head out more than Cowboy. Like one of the contestants said, if I believed that Cowboy was playing the role on purpose (or as Will would say for "strategical" purposes) I would have been more inclined to back him. So instead the pretty boy takes home the $500k despite probably not having to worry about much in life thanks to his genes... now he just has to figure out how to let Diane down slowly....very slowly.
My jury guesses were fairly accurate (well one can be pretty accurate when using terms like "possible" and "probable"). Nakomis probably made the right decision voting for her half-brother (less baggage to sort out when dealing with this whole situation in the "real world"). I admit to being a bit worried about the outcome when both Adria and Natalie cast their votes for Cowboy. Adria was the one who was a proponent of stepping up and playing the game...so I was a tad shocked she voted for a game that was anything but that. But she (along with Nat) were probably swayed by Michael's financial needs, religious convictions, "morals" throughout the game, and that they all share twangy accents.
The "reunion" part of the show was pretty darn catty (and just a tad embarassing for them). The five non-jury houseguests just really need to go away. The Jase-Scott feud, the Holly-Diane feud, the continuing love match between Holly-Jase... Oy! Enough! You didn't even make it that far on the show...so go away... though they probably will not. Some of these folks are already over at TheFishBowl.com -- a graveyard for ex-reality contestants... where they (unhealthily) resuscitate their moment of fame (or infamy).
And how about that Julie Chen? Getting the "Probst Clause" into her contact... I and only I will unveil the votes...DAMMIT!
So another season of Big Brother comes to an end... like I said, it wore out its welcome... but I have no doubt that I will be glued to TV set again when another set of hamsters come 'on over to the CBS lot next summer.
